Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Cache Certificate Level 2

Achievement of this qualification could act as progression towards Level 3 or securing employment in the health and social care sector.

This course introduces you to the knowledge required to understand the role of a social care worker, the principles of personal development, person-centred approaches to care, issues of equality and diversity in care and principles of communication.

It explores the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion and communication in adult social care. You will also learn about safeguarding and protection of adults in care settings and the duty of care that you have as a care worker.

You will also cover handling information in care settings and health and safety issues. You will look at legislation and issues related to the secure handling of information. You will look at general aspects of health and safety and at issues related to manual handling, infection control, food safety, fire and other emergencies and workplace stress.

Entry Requirements

You will be required to have E3 in literacy at an Initial Assessment session that you will be invited to attend prior to the start of the course . This can be completed during enrolment times of year.

Delivery and Assessment

You will be assessed through assignments and there are no exams.

Progression

On the completion of this course you can either progress onto Level 3 or securing employment in the health and social care sector.
