Podiatry BSc (Hons) Degree
Podiatry is a healthcare profession concerned with the assessment, diagnosis and management of the foot and lower limb. If you have the ability to show compassion and empathy and are passionate about the comfort of your patients then this course is for you. Podiatry graduates will be eligible to apply for membership of both the Health and Care Professions Council and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. This allows you to use the title ‘Chiropodist’/’Podiatrist’ and allows employment within both the NHS and private sectors.
You will learn a range of treatments for foot and lower limb complaints including skin and nail treatments, the mechanical correction of gait and posture, and some surgical techniques. In addition you will learn to address all sorts of different problems from prescribing or making corrective devices to aid mobility, to helping children with gait problems and rehabilitation of stroke sufferers.
