Kidderminster Harriers Football Academy Diploma Level 3 (Male & Female)

Our Football Academy is run in association with Kidderminster Harriers Football Club and combines the opportunity to develop your football skills and achieve a recognised sports qualification. You will study in refurbished classrooms at Stourbridge College’s Centre of Sporting Excellence, Brintons Field in Kidderminster and will train four times a week within the same facilities as Kidderminster Harriers First Team as well as competing in a number of leagues including the National Youth League, the Midweek Floodlit League and English Colleges Football League. To study at the Football Academy you will need to apply online and you will also need to take part in football trials as part of your application process.

Entry Requirements

You must have successfully completed a Level 2 programme of learning with GCSEs or vocational qualifications including four GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including Maths, English, Science & PE. Please note that the offer of a place on the Academy course is also subject to you successfully completing a football trial. You will be sent further details about how to register via the college website for the trials following receipt of your application and interview.

Delivery and Assessment

The course will be mainly delivered through taught classes and lectures with some learning taking place using the college VLE (Moodle) and other electronic means including YouTube and other web based software. Assessment on the course will be varied and could involve written assessments, individual and group presentations, production of booklets and by practical performance. There will also be an external component of assessment in the form of synoptic assessments and examinations which will be sent off to the exam board for marking and assessment.

Progression

If you have completed this qualification in a year you may progress to further learning at Level 3, for example to a second Foundation Diploma in a complementary sector; or to a larger size BTEC National in the sport sector, such as the Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport Development and Coaching.
