Engineering Pre-apprenticeship Diploma Level 2

This is a level 2 engineering course had been designed as a pathway to an apprenticeship.
This course involves studying a range of subjects that cover the electrical field in engineering.

The units studied are:
• Unit 201 – Health And Safety
• Unit 202 – Engineering Maths And Science
• Unit 211 – Electrical Maintenance
• Unit 221 – Electrical Principles
• Unit 223 – Electrical Practice
• Unit 224 – Electrical Installations

Entry Requirements

You must have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at grade 3 or above (must include Maths and English) or a Level 1 Diploma in Engineering (Grade Merit or Distinction) and a report from the school/college showing excellence in your attendance (must be 90% or above), punctuality and behaviour.

Delivery and Assessment

The course is assessed via coursework and online tests which you must pass in order to achieve and secure your target grades. Some of the coursework assessments are in-class. Coursework includes carrying out researches involving analysis, evaluation and mathematical calculations. Each unit is graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction, dependent on work completed. You must make sure to bring notebooks, pens/pencils, scientific calculator to the college (mobile phone calculators are not allowed).


The completition of this course will give you the opportunity to apply for an Apprenticeship with an Engineering company.
