Digital Skills for Work Subsidiary Diploma Level 3 (incorporating maths & English)

An opportunity to study a Computing course at Level 3 alongside English/maths, if necessary.
You will study an eclectic mix of units covering topics as diverse as;
• Employability related I.T. skills
• Hardware components
• Software and hardware maintenance and upgrade
• Database skills
• Animation
• Systems Security
• e-Commerce.

Entry Requirements

You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (two of which may be in English and maths) or equivalent. Consideration will be given to your application if you have 3s in English and/or maths and you have at least 2 Grade 4s in other subjects plus a Merit or 5 in one other subject. Additional evidence detailing previous work experience, employer reference, school reports and original certificates of previously gained qualifications will be also required at the interview.

Delivery and Assessment

Delivery will be primarily classroom based, with equivalent amount of self-study required to succeed. Students will be assessed via a variety of methods such as portfolio of evidence, written coursework, project work, and practical assessment.


As well as having the opportunity to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in IT and then to an HNC/HND/Degree, success on this course does not limit your progression, you may also progress onto an I.T. Apprenticeship.
