Dental Nursing Diploma Level 3

This qualification is designed to prepare you to work as a dental nurses and will enable you to register as a dental care professional with the General Dental Council. You will learn about the theory that underpins good dental nursing practice and analyse many aspects of the role. You will look at practical and interpersonal skills and investigate imaging, treatments, surgery and conservation practice.

Entry Requirements

You will need 3 GCSEs grade C or above to include English and maths. You also need to be currently employed in a dental practice.

Delivery and Assessment

Workplace activity is assessed observation from a dental nurse assessor. You will also need to produce written evidence of activities performed in the dental surgery that will be mapped against the awarding body standards. This will culminate in an online examination.


With this course you will gain the right qualifications to register with the General Dental Council as a dental care professional and give you the entry criteria to work in dental nursing. It is a stepping stone to further higher level study such as dental hygiene, oral health promotion.
