Computing Higher National Certificate/Diploma (incorporating Cybersecurity, Coding, Website, Data Mining & Games Development)

This course is designed to equip you for a successful career in the IT industry. The course will give a comprehensive overview and thorough grounding in the main areas of modern computing, providing you with the real, practical skills needed in today’s competitive environment. It develops an appreciation of the need to implement a structured approach to programme design, and the necessary skills.It also provides a framework for sound technical and professional practices and an opportunity to develop both independent and co-operative work.

Some of the areas you will cover are; Programming, Networking, Professional Practice, Database Design/Development, Security, Computer Systems Architecture, Web Design/Development, Business Intelligence, Algorithms, Network Security, Advanced Programming, Games Development, Virtual & Augmented Reality Development.

There is an option to study part time over 2 years for HNC and 2 years for HND.
The tuition fee for academic year 2020-21 is £5,500 or £2,750 for part-time. Please be aware that we intend to increase tuition fees in subsequent years using the Retail Price Index (RPI-X).

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 48 UCAS Points and GCSE Maths/English at A-C (4-9). GCSE Maths/English retake opportunities for the right candidates. Entry requirements are flexible, get in touch for further information.

Delivery and Assessment

Assessment will take place via on-going practical assessment, coursework, assignments, group activities and projects.

Progression

Once you have completed the HND can study a 3rd year at university to top up to a BSc or move on to IT related careers.
