Children and Young People (SEND) Foundation Degree
The demand for highly-qualified practitioners to work with children, young people and their families is rapidly increasing. The need to utilise and develop the skills of current practitioners is vital to the growth and improvement of this rewarding and demanding sector.
This course is designed for early years practitioners and teaching assistants who want to develop their professional knowledge and understanding, through a combination of theoretical and practical study. The course is delivered over 3 years, studying 30 weeks each year. An important part of the course is the ability to become a reflective practitioner – a skill which will be developed throughout the duration of your studies. Lectures are three hours in duration and are delivered by highly qualified staff who have excellent academic and practical backgrounds, with experience in children’s and young people’s services.
We offer smaller class sizes – enabling supportive quality teaching with both one to one tuition and group work. This course has a competitive fee structure, with flexible entry requirements based on your experience. This course is awarded in conjunction with the University of Derby.
