Carpentry Diploma Level 2

Level 2 - Intermediate

Carpentry Diploma Level 2

In this course you will build on skills and knowledge about using hand tools, portable power tools and creating basic woodworking joints to include first fixing and second fixing.

You will learn how to set up structural carcassing, how to use and maintain a circular saw and carry out maintenance work.

Courses are three to four days a week, over a 12-week period, with some home study required.

We will;

  • Respond to local employers needs and develop your practical skills as required
  • Provide sessions with a variety of activities to challenge and help you learn
  • Check your progress regularly and tell you how you are doing
  • Get to know you
  • Find out whether you need any support
  • Listen and respond to your views

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 12 - 19 Weeks

For this course you will also need Basic skill inital assessment at Level 1 or equivalent.For this course you will also need Basic skill inital assessment at Level 1 or equivalent.

You will be observed through practical work and also will take an exam.

Once you have finished this course you can continue to study the Level 3 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery, or you could find employment within the sector.
