AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3 Part-Time

The AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and membership body for accounting and finance staff. It is internationally recognised and the AAT’s current membership is over 120,000 worldwide.

The Level 3 is the second level of the AAT Accounting qualification. It introduces you to more complex financial accounting tasks such as incomplete records, accounting for different types of organisation, the preparation final accounts and accounting for indirect taxation.

It also introduces the basic building blocks of Management Accounting, Marginal Costing and Absorption Costing. In addition to these accounting units you will also study spread sheets and ethics, essential knowledge and skills for an effective accounting technician. The tuition fee stated is inclusive of all first sit exam fees. The course is a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

You must hold AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of double entry bookkeeping. Direct entry into Level 3 may be possible providing you have substantial practical accounting experience and are able to demonstrate this at interview.

The AAT is assessed by computer based exams and computer based projects for each of the accounting units. Additionally you will complete a synoptic assessment along with Spreadsheets and Accounting Ethics.

Students who have successfully completed the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (Advanced) will be eligible to apply for AAT Associate Bookkeeping membership and achieve professional AATQB status (using AATQB designatory letters after their name).  The AAT level 3 qualification will allow you to progress to the AAT level 4 and then subsequently apply for full Technician status once you have provided a portfolio of practical experience from the work place, or should you chose to go onto higher education can often allow direct entry to many Accounting degrees.
