AAT Award in Accounting Level 1

Interested in a career in accounting and finance? Considering a job within an accounting practice, within a finance department, payroll, management decision making or performance management? Looking for a qualification that will give you the edge in the competitive job market of today?
At Matthew Boulton College we can offer you all of this and more. A specially designed course offered to you on a full-time basis that could lead you to a professional accounting qualification.

The course consists of 3 qualifications in one.
o Access Award in Bookkeeping: this qualification will introduce you to the role of a bookkeeper, an understanding of financial transactions and simple bookkeeping techniques.
o Access Award in Accounting Software: this is the perfect starting point if you want to carry out basic finance and administrative duties using accounting software packages. T
o Access Award in Business Skills: this qualification will help you develop essential business and finance skills, such as using mathematics for accounting, creating business documents and performing essential accounting procedures.

You will also have the opportunity to re-sit both GCSE maths and English to facilitate your progression onto other courses.

Entry Requirements

For entry onto this course you will need grade 3 or above in 2 GCSE subjects

Delivery and Assessment

The qualification consists of 3 externally assessed computer-based examinations. Upon completion you will receive immediate notification of your result and an analysis of your performance on each task.

Progression

You can progress onto AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting after successfully completing this course on either a full-time basis or moving into the work place and studying part time. This course can also be undertaken as part of an apprenticeship programme
